Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information K-RCP (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit k-rcp.com, why we collect it, and what choices you have. If you have any question about it, email 4ddesigner@naver.com.

Who we are

K-RCP is an independent food blog publishing Korean recipes in English, written and run by Sung Hwan Cho in South Korea. Our website address is https://k-rcp.com. The data controller for the purposes of the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation is Sung Hwan Cho, the operator of K-RCP, contactable at 4ddesigner@naver.com.

Information we collect

Comments and recipe ratings

When you leave a comment, we collect the information shown in the form — typically a name, an email address and your message — together with your IP address and browser user agent string, which help us detect spam. An anonymised string created from your email address (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you have a public profile picture. Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely so that follow-up replies remain readable in context.

Email you send us

If you write to us, we keep your message and address only for as long as we need it to answer you and to keep a record of the correspondence. We do not add you to any mailing list without your explicit request.

Server logs and technical data

Like most websites, our hosting provider (Hostinger) automatically records requests to the server, including IP address, date and time, the page requested, referring page and browser information. These logs are used for security, abuse prevention and troubleshooting.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. K-RCP uses them in the following ways:

  • Necessary cookies keep the site working — for example remembering your cookie consent choice, or your name and email if you tick the box when leaving a comment. These cannot be switched off.
  • Statistics cookies help us understand which pages are read, in aggregate (Google Analytics and PostHog, described below).
  • Advertising and marketing cookies are set by our advertising partners, as described in the next section.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer of this site, and you can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site behave.

Advertising and third-party cookies

K-RCP is funded by advertising. We work with third-party advertising companies, including Google, to serve advertisements when you visit this site.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and to other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies, including the DoubleClick DART cookie, enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to k-rcp.com and other sites on the internet.
  • You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or Your Online Choices.
  • Advertising partners we do not control may set their own cookies. We have no access to or control over cookies used by third-party advertisers, and this Privacy Policy does not cover their practices. Please consult their own privacy policies for details.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland: a cookie banner is shown on your first visit, where you can accept or refuse statistics and marketing cookies, and you can change that choice at any time through the cookie settings link in the footer. Where consent to personalised advertising has not been given, Google may serve non-personalised or limited ads. The analytics tools described in the next section load with each page; the opt-out options listed there apply wherever you are.

Analytics

K-RCP uses two analytics services to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used: which pages are read, roughly where readers come from, and which devices they use.

  • Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) records page views and basic device, browser and approximate location information, using cookies such as _ga. Google explains its processing in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
  • PostHog (PostHog Inc., US cloud) records page views and similar usage events. It stores a random identifier in a cookie and in your browser’s local storage, and it does not build a personal profile unless a visitor is identified, which this site never asks you to do. You can stop it by blocking cookies and site data for k-rcp.com in your browser.

Neither service is used to identify you personally, and analytics data is not combined with the email address of anyone who writes in.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content such as videos or images hosted elsewhere. Embedded content behaves exactly as if you had visited that other website, which may collect data about you, use cookies, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content.

How long we keep your data

Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely. Email correspondence is kept for as long as it is useful for answering you. Server logs are kept for the period set by our hosting provider. Cookie lifetimes vary and are listed in our cookie notice.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. Readers in California may have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to opt out of its sale — we do not sell personal information.

To exercise any of these rights, email 4ddesigner@naver.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. If you are in South Korea, the Personal Information Protection Act gives you similar rights of access, correction, deletion and suspension of processing.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA) and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Security

This site is served over HTTPS. We take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold, but no method of transmission or storage on the internet is completely secure.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised.
